Wicked Problem Project: Part C – Implementation

  1. It looks like its coming along pretty good. Do your students like crosswords? Mine panic unless I work on them with them. I'm not sure why, the same questions presented in a linear way are okay and I tell them that they get letter "hints" if its a crossword! This project makes me want to play with Moodle a little more! Can't wait to see part D

  2. I'm thinking along the same lines as Pam=8-) My district is in the process of switching from Blackboard to Moodle. The changeover will be complete by the fall of 2011. I have worked with Moodle in the past, and am looking forward to the switch. Moodle is more user friendly than Blackboard, in my opinion. Looking forward to the last blog post and final presentation.

  3. I always find it interesting to learn how English words translate to other languages. Your "glamorous" example was a great way of showing how misunderstandings from word meanings can come just from simple translations. But like you mentioned, it was readily obvious that there was a misunderstanding and you were able to address it using a more appropriate visual.

    I really thought this was an excellent project and I am very interested to see how it turns out.

  4. The fact that you had to set up student accounts was one of the several reasons that I chose to not use moodle. But it still sounds like it has some awesome uses, and you're making the most of them. I was interested to hear about your characterization of the Korean students being primarily visual learners. It seems that having students vote on the best could be motivation for some students but could also cause anxiety for others...how competitive do your students tend to be?
